7 Sensational Time Lapse Posts to Take Your Breath Away - #ARM Worldwide

Time Lapse photography has always been the best way of recording slow changes. As a result, not only they are a treat to the eye giving us a feel for details and appreciate the gradual changes in time which culminate towards an entirely new scene, they also teach us the age old lesson of ‘Time and Tide wait for none’ more profoundly, than we would care to image.

Time lapse photography, like any other photography is a skill, which basically involves taking a shot of a fixed location or otherwise, after every set duration of time, which when put together, gives a sense of events over a large period of time in a short video. Wikipedia defines Time Lapse photography as, “Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. For example, an image of a scene may be captured once every second, then played back at 30 frames per second; the result is an apparent 30x times speed increase. Time-lapse photography can be considered the opposite of high-speed photography or slow motion.”

With modern gadgets such as the iPhone 6 or the HTC M8 including a Time Lapse functionality by default and apps such as HyperLapse becoming a mainstay, it opens a whole new avenue for brands as well as casual users to use this incredible effect of photography in creating engaging and visually appealing content. As the leading digital marketing companies in the world, we are taking time lapse content seriously.

There have been several examples of time lapse videos in the past, but until recently, they were all a work of an SLR or a DSLR camera.
