The social network for professionals has recently announced to touch the 500 million user mark globally. They also released a minor report on the most connected countries, jobs, industries and places.LinkedIn is shifting gears post-Microsoft acquisition. Spread over 200 countries, 10 million active jobs, 9 million companies and around 100,000 articles published weekly, LinkedIn is keeping up with the pace of all digital giants.
The transition from the job opportunity portal to the next content marketing hub, LinkedIn has a long way to go.This is their second major announcement, post the design revamp a few months back.
Another spoke under internet.org umbrella- Say hello to Express Wifi
Social media Brobdingnagian, Facebook, launched commercial wifi services in India partnering with Bharti Airtel, which plans to bring an additional 20,000 hotspots online. The other ISPs associated with the project so far are: AirJaldi in Uttarakhand, LMES in Rajasthan, Tikona in Gujarat and soon with Shaildhar in Meghalaya.
Express Wifi is part of Facebook’s connectivity initiative internet.org; Facebook launched similar service in Kenya to provide a sustainable entrepreneurship model to local ISPs.

Recently France’s largest bank BNP Paribas tries to reach the younger audience for recruitment by using the millennial’s platform – Snapchat.
They are few of the brand’s who have tried something like this, sharing the thought behind this activation, Romain Chapron, the bank’s digital media partnerships manager quoted –
“The plan is to acquire more millennials for our employee base and understand how we can interact with this new generation,”
Snapchat is one of the top social platforms and first choice for the younger audience. BNP Paribas involved their existing employees and created content for them. Employee branding is anyways a better factor of influence for any young working professionals.

Advertising can no more be away from the social platforms. The only platform that has missed out is now acquired with ad manager.Snapchat to offer advertising model for SMEs along with a new Snapchat Mobile Dashboard, and a Business Manager site. It is aimed to entice SMEs to think of Snapchat as a viable advertising option.
People can avail the feature from June onwards in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Australia and other countries.Now one can buy, manage, optimise and view all their campaign reports and numbers for all Snap Ad types. Entirely a good news for the marketers, whose list got a new member to grow the revenues from.
